Sara Al-Abbadi is a holder of master degree in mechanical engineering from The Petroleum Institute and a certified corrosion engineer from NACE. In addition, she specialized in corrosion and materials for both offshore and sour services.
Currently she is working in ADNOC OFFSHORE as a welding & materials specialist leading various projects as the main corrosion and materials engineer.
During her career, she represented ADNOC in many international conferences like NACE in the UAE, future energy summit and ADIPEC.
Hiba Aoudi, is currently a corrosion engineer at ADNOC OFFSHORE, working under Projects and Engineering (P&E) division.
She joined ADNOC OFFSHORE in the year 2012 after completing her bachelor degree in chemical engineering from the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi. In addition, she had also pursued her master degree of science in chemical engineering year 2016 at the Petroleum Institute.
She implements corrosion prevention programs along with corrosion management system to help extend the facility life safely and in an economic manner. Her technical experience varies from corrosion control and monitoring, material selection, coating specification and application, cathodic protection and chemical treatment.
Hiba Aoudi is self-motivated and enthusiastic team player, willing to learn and share knowledge where ever possible.
Dr. Filip Van den Abeele holds a Master in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Engineering Sciences from Ghent University, Belgium. In addition, he obtained an M.Sc. in Ocean and Offshore Technology at Cranfield University, UK. With over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Dr. Filip is a widely recognized technical authority for the safe and reliable design of offshore structures.
Mr. Valery Ngomo holds a MSc in Materials Science and Engineering. He started his career within Industeel (ArcelorMittal Group) in 2006 as Research and Development Engineer in tool steels. Mr.Valery now manages within Business Development the Energy and Corrosion division (carbon & low alloy steels for pressure vessel fabrication, corrosion resistant alloys).
Mr. Matteo Andreoletti is a sales engineer with the Energy team of ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat products. With 10 years of experience in the flat carbon steel industry accumulated in various assignments in the quality and customer technical support domain in Europe and in North America, he is now responsible for the technical and commercial relationship with Oil & Gas pipe mills in the Middle East and in Latin America. In 2005 Mr. Matteo graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management and Production Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy), where he continued to earn his Master's Degree in Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering in 2007.
Mr. Hidenori Shitamoto is the senior researcher at Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation for 5 years after having worked in. He has been in Pipe & Tube Research Laboratories for 5 years. Prior to that Mr. Hidenori worked for Sumitomo Metal Industries for 15 years. Mr. Hidenori holds a Bachelor's degree of Engineering and Master's degree of Engineering. He is an expert of the metal forming and evaluation of SAW and seamless line pipes. He has published technical papers about Strain-Based Design of UOE line pipe and reeling of seamless line pipe in engineering conferences.
Mr. Yuhei Suzuki is the manager of Specification & Quality Control Dept. in NSSMC Amagasaki Works, which manufactures Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA) tubes and pipes. He started his career of NSSMC (former SMI) in 2011 as engineer for improvement of productivity at Amagasaki Works. Then, for next two years, he was in charge of developing new materials for chemical industry. After that Mr. Yuhei became the quality control staff of CRA OCTG in 2014. In 2017, he became the quality control manager of special tubes and pipes for chemical industry.
Mr. Andreas Thieme is the marketing manager of Dillinger, where he is responsible for Large Diameter Pipes and Offshore Oil and Gas segments. After completing his studies in Material Science at RWTH Aachen University, Mr. Andreas joined the research and development department of Dillinger. He has over 20 years of work experience in the fields of various rolling and heat treatment processes like normalizing rolling, quenching and tempering and thermo mechanical rolling. Beside the development, Mr. Andreas is responsible for the order design and completion of HIC resistant heavy plates, both for normalized pressure vessel and thermo mechanical rolled line pipe grades.
Mr. Andrey Balyev, Dpl. Materials Engineer, is the Head of Research and Development of Metallurgical Department of Centravis Production Ukraine PJSC. He is a technical expert with 12 years of experience in mechanical and material engineering, and this expertise area includes ways to improve exploitation properties of seamless stainless steel tubes and pipes. Mr. Andrey has published more than 32 scientific papers including 5 patent ones.
Mr. Antoni Prieto received an MSc in Chemical Engineering from UPC University, Barcelona and Post-degree of Technology of Paints from IQS, Barcelona. He received FROSIO certificate level III from FROSIO, Norway.
He has 8 years of experience in paints, varnishes and polymers in technical positions, always in R&D departments. His functional experience includes development of new products and study of new technologies related to paints.
In 2007 he joined Industrias Titan S.A, Barcelona, Spain, as Technician in Polymers department for development of new waterborne alkyd polymer.
From 2008 until now he worked at HEMPEL, Barcelona Spain, first as R&D Engineer in R&D Regional Protective with responsibility of new products, customized products and study of new technologies related to paints and surfaces preparation and from 2013 he was appointed as R&D Manager Protective.
Mr. Christian Stricker is the Head of Technical Project Management Line pipe / Process Pipe at EEW ErndtebruckerEisenwerk (SAW Pipes), Germany. With over 15 years of experience in the Steel industry, Mr. Christian is a well-known metallurgist. Among the other skills, he has extensive knowledge coatings, process improvement, robust engineering and process analysis (FMEA). He holds a graduate engineering degree in Metallurgy and Materials from RWTH University Aachen / Germany.
Mr. Markus Bockelmann is the business development manager at NobleClad, Burbach, Germany, a global company that offers metal cladding services. As the business development manager, Mr. Markus focuses on building relationships, promoting technical advancements and growth of business. Previously, Mr. Markus completed his masters in material science, metallurgy, Iron & Steel making from the Technical University of Aachen, Germany. He also worked as Research and Development Engineer at EEW ErndtebruckerEisenwerk, Erndtebruck, Germany from 2006 to 2015.
Dr. Nathan Switzner specializes in failure analysis and investigating the links between processing, microstructure, and material performance. His metallurgical experience ranges from aerospace component production to refinery metallurgy. Dr. Nathan’s focus areas are friction welding, fusion welding, casting, materials selection, forging and forming, fracture, heat treatment, corrosion, microstructural analysis and mechanical testing. Prior to this, he had involved in various alloy systems including stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, nickel, copper, bronze, aluminum, titanium, vanadium and tantalum. Dr. Nathanworks in industrial, commercial, and domestic proactive problem solving and metallurgical failure analysis.
Prior to joining Exponent, Dr. Switzner worked at Honeywell Manufacturing and Technologies, Valero Refining and ExxonMobil. At Honeywell, he led a project team that worked with outside suppliers to ensure procurement of quality forged and formed stainless steel components. He also reviewed and revised internal specifications for metals and alloys. His work with Valero included analyses of corrosion and fatigue failures in refinery reactors, vessels, and piping. At ExxonMobil, he performed physical simulation of steel welds and microstructural analysis for the Upstream Research Company. Dr. Switzner's past work has given him experience in working with many specifications and recommendations including those published by ASTM, ASME, API, NACE, AWS, ISO, and others.
At the Colorado School of Mines, Dr. Switzner's thesis studies included forging processes for stainless steel and solid-state joining of stainless steel to plain carbon steel for cladding applications. Phases of his Ph.D. work included mechanical property and microstructure comparisons of fusion welds and inertia friction welds as-well-as corrosion comparisons of wrought and welded stainless steels.
Mr. Mirza Aqeel Baig holds a Master's degree in Material Science Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. During his M.Sc., he worked on a collaborative research project between KFUPM and Massachusetts Institute of technology (MIT), U.S.A for "Clean Water and Clean Energy". Mr. Mirza is an author of 3 International journal publications and 7 International conference papers. Currently, he is a Lead Production Engineer of Induction Bending Department at Saudi Steel Pipe Company in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, where he has worked for 7 years. Being in this field he was introduced to the technology and process of Hot Induction Bending from where he started to perform his research and analysis on the practical problems which are faced during the manufacturing process for a better quality product and customer satisfaction.
Mr. Craig Woolhouse joined Elcometer in 2001 as European Sales Manager where he was responsible for developing the sales of Elcometer products across the key European Industrial countries, resulting in the opening of a number of new distribution partners across both Western and Eastern Europe. For the past 13 years his area of responsibility has expanded to include India, Africa and the Middle East where Craig has overseen extensive growth for Elcometer in these regions, not only through the development of close business relationships but through proactive management of the distribution network, culminating with the opening of the Elcometer sales, service and repair facility in Dubai.Prior to this, Mr. Craig worked for 17 years in the European automotive component supply industry.
In addition to being certified to NACE Level 1, Mr. Craig is also a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer (B.Eng 1984) with a deep interest in how to develop the company's product and applications in the Coatings Inspection and NDT market sectors through industry education and working with key institutions such as Saudi Aramco, NACE, SSPC and CorriSA.
Dr. Emara Ahmed has been involved for 26 years in structural operations related to the oil and gas industries and graduated from Job Engineer to Lead Engineer supporting the project team then Structural Section Head and Structural Manager. Dr. Emara holds a Bachelor's degree of Engineering with Honors, Master's degree in Engineering and PhD degree of Engineering. He is an expert in FEED engineering, basic engineering, detailed engineering, installation engineering and integrity assessment of fixed offshore structures, finite element methods and different analysis of structures. Mr. Emara is quite familiar with relevant international design codes and structural analysis programs. He had published different technical structural papers in structural conferences and journals.
Mr. Ravi Inder Singh is a Mechanical Engineer from BITS, Mesra, MBA from IIM-Kolkata, an alumnus of Singapore Institute of Management, Singapore and has done short courses at ISB, Hyderabad.
Before joining with Al Nasser Industrial Enterprises LLC in Abu Dhabi, Mr. Ravi was CEO, Essar Hypermarkets overseeing 1.8 million tons of steel processing, 1 million tons of sales, fabrication, e-commerce & 3rd party TMT trading. Prior to this, he was CEO, ESPD of Essar Steel and managed multiple facilities across India, UK, UAE & Vietnam. Mr. Ravi had also served as Sr. Vice President & Head of Marketing of Essar Steel dealing with Hot Rolled Coils, Cold Rolled Products, Color-coated & Galvanized, Heavy Plates, etc.
Mr. Ravi has twenty six years of multi-faceted functional experience at Steel Authority of India, ICI & Tata in Corporate Quality management, Sales & Marketing, Plant Engineering, Projects Management and in managing multiple profit centres. He had been heading multiple Profit Centres for twenty years.
Mr. Jitendra Oza is General Manager at Polycon Gulf Limited where he started as a Production Manager. His successful career owed to his efficiency and over 35 years progressive experience in manufacturing, strategic planning, improving operational efficiency, team building and project management for Rotational Moulding industry, providing direction and leadership to high performance teams to attain organizational objectives.
Mr. Robert S. Lauer is Vice President of World Wide Corrosion Control Quality and Technical Support with Tuboscope. He is based out of their headquarters in Houston, TX. Robert received a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry and in Biology from Houston Baptist University in Houston, TX. Prior to joining Tuboscope, Mr. Robert worked for Baker Petrolite in research and development of chemical inhibitors and automated systems for which he received three US Patents. In his current position with Tuboscope, Mr. Robert is working to improve the technology behind the testing of various quality parameters, the electronic capture of that data, and the improvement of the system based on data trends. He also leads Tuboscope's technical support team as they work with the industry to improve the understanding of internal coating technology. He has worked in the corrosion control industry for over 21 years now, and he has been an active member of NACE for over 19 years and has authored and presented papers for the NACE global conference as well as the Middle East Corrosion Conference, the Offshore Technology Conference, SPE, Santos Offshore Brazil, and Offshore Asia.
Mr. Loai Barakat is Business Development Manager of Functional Powder Coating in the Middle East region of Axalta Coating Systems (formerly DuPont Performance Coatings, DPC) based in Dubai. He brings over 10 years of experience in the industrial powder coating.
Prior to joining Axalta Coating Systems in 2016, he held variety of positions between Canada with Charter Coating Service as Business Development Manager & Inspection Director in 2014 and UAE with 3M Gulf as Senior Technical Service Engineer for Infrastructure Protection Division for MEA region since 2006.
Mr. Barakat is NACE Coating Inspection Level III (Cert. No 41561) since 2012 as well as SSPC member with vast experience in pipeline and tank coating inspection, specification writing and test protocol design.
Mr. Barakat is a member of the Jordanian Chemical Society and Association of Chemical Profession of Alberta (ACPA) - Canada. He earned his Chemical Science degree from University of Damascus - Syria in 2000.
Mr. Santanu Saha holds professional qualifications of Non-destructive Testing (ACCP), Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT), and (ISO 9712/PCN), in addition to Storage Tank, Process Piping, Pressure Vessel, and Risk Based Welding Inspection. With over 22 years of experience, in the current position, Mr. Santanu prepares procedures for various Gas and Petroleum projects, structural items, Petroleum refineries etc. Furthermore, he witnesses ASME procedure demonstration and participates in ASME audits and joint review with various ASME team leaders on behalf of different Clients.
Mr. Rezaul Haque is responsible for providing technical support to regional customers on epoxy coatings & composites, including FBE coatings for Oil, Gas and Water transportation services Currently working as a Technical Service Manager for the OLIN Epoxy solution, a business unit of OLIN CORPORATION. Mr. Rezaul has more than 18 years of experience in the field of development of Protective, Marine & Industrial Coatings, mainly in support of the Oil and Gas Industries in the Middle East. He has extensive experience working closely with the corrosion protection teams of the leading National Oil Companies in the region. Mr. Rezaul is a NACE-certified Coatings Inspector and a protective coating specialist. In academic career; He is a Post-Graduate in Analytical Chemistry.
Mr. Olivier Leburn is in charge of product development for Acciaierie Bertoli Safau and manages international teams of Italian product engineers who study the feasibility inside ABS, Technical accounts in direct contact with customers worldwide and the Research and Development in France. Graduated as an engineer in material from ENSEEG, Polytechnic of Grenoble (Fr), he was responsible for production during 13 years as finishing shop engineer and Steel making shop manager. Then, Mr. Oliver led strategic investment program and CAPEX for a French company. In 2011, he joined ABS to build a Research and Development Center in France.
Today, in direct collaboration with key account managers for the whole group, Mr. Olivier supports all projects from a technical point of view and follows their results with ABS's customers.
Mr. Hajo Schulenburg is the founder of VisiConsult X-ray Systems & Solutions GmbH, a specialist for industrial X-ray inspection solutions and automation. He finished his engineering studies in Germany (Luebeck) in 1988. He worked as a development engineer at Nordischer Maschinenbau, developing a fish bone detector on X-ray base from 1992 to 2002. Mr. Hajo was also head of the industrial X-ray imaging department at Roentgen SEIFERT (now GE) before founding VisiConsult in 1996.
Mr. Tetsuro Sawaki has been involved for 25 years experience in various tubular business ranging from factory to customers, which includes "factory manager" for seamless pipe production and High frequency welded pipe production, "Products Service & Development" section for domestic and international market, "Tubular Business Planning Dept." in charge of Research and Development, "Oversea office" based in JFE London Office. Mr. Tetsuro is now working as a technical service engineer for OCTG stationed in JFE Steel Corporation Dubai Office.
Merrick Alpert is President of EonCoat, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company as it distributes its patented anti-corrosive coating worldwide.
Prior to EonCoat, Alpert served in increasingly senior executive positions at energy companies including Turbine Generator Maintenance, Enron Energy Services, Pacific Gas & Electric and Smith Cogeneration International.
Merrick Alpert served in the United States Military. In 1998 Captain Alpert volunteered as a US Peacekeeper in Bosnia and for his lifesaving actions in a valley outside of Sarajevo, was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal.
Alpert graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1991 and from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut in 1988. Alpert's memoir, Morning Sun, was published by Lyons Press in 2009.
Merrick Alpert lives in San Diego, California.
Mr. Vignesh Mariappan is working with Olympus-MEA from 2012 Onwards till date. In his career period he has worked in several roles starting from NDT inspector, product specialist and up to product manager for Advanced NDT products so far. Vignesh comes from Mechanical engineering background as well also a UT level III. At present his Key role is provide technical assistance to all existing as well as new customer in METNA region on Advanced NDT products in Olympus.
Mr. Sreenivasa Rao is a post graduate in Chemistry and working as Regional Technical Manager for Middle East and Africa. He has been in the field of coatings R&D for more than 20 years and has worked with various industries like protective, Marine, Coil, packaging including high performance coatings.
