Mr. Saad M. Al-Muaili is a Metallurgical engineer in the Consulting Services Department of Saudi Aramco. He has 15 years of experience and he is the Materials Engineering Standard Committee Vice Chairman in the company. Mr. Saad has a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and a master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK. His work in Saudi Aramco focuses on material specifications, material selection, corrosion management, failure analysis and design reviews for oil and gas projects. He is a chartered engineer by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (CEng, MIMMM) and an active member in NACE.
Mr. Wael Al Shouly graduated from Queen Mary College, University of London with an Honours B.Sc (Engineering) degree in Materials Science & Engineering in 1988. He has over 25 years' experience in the field of materials/metallurgy in the Oil and Gas industries and was the head of the Department of Metallurgy at Emirates Industrial Laboratory, Dubai until 1992, before joining Bodycote Materials Testing Services in Abu Dhabi in 1994 as Senior Metallurgist and Laboratory Manager covering mechanical, corrosion testing and material evaluation. Mr. Wael joined ADMA-OPCO (now ADNOC Offshore) as Metallurgist in the Integrity Division, Facilities Integrity Team in 2001 with the main activities and responsibilities covering materials selection and corrosion assessment, steels and high alloys material performance, failure analysis and offshore inspection. In 2007, he moved to the Discipline Engineering division, Projects and Engineering Business Unit as senior Metallurgist. His new responsibilities included development and updating of company material standards and specifications and project material selection studies, covering structural steels for offshore platforms, steel platform facilities and stainless steels and steel sub-sea pipeline. He has thorough experience in steel downhole tubulars, wellhead equipment, topside piping and sub-sea pipelines procurement, sour service equipment, as well as prequalification and development of new materials. During his impressive career, he had visited and audited most steel mills worldwide in Europe, Japan, India and China and directly involved in tubulars, pipe and plate mill manufacturer capability evaluation and qualification and production.
Dr. Abdullah Al Shahrani is working for Research & Technology Department at HADEED-SABIC as a Lead Scientist with almost 15 years' experience. His focus is on research activities related to product and process development on flat steel. Dr. Abdullah got his bachelor degree on Applied Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), 2003. Then, he obtained his master degree from University of Sheffield, United Kingdom on Advanced Metallurgy. In 2014, he received his PhD degree form University of Wollongong, Australia on Material Science Engineering.
Dr. Othman Al Malki is a staff scientist at HADEED's Research and Technology - Jubail. He graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) with a Bachelor degree in Applied Mechanical Engineering. Then, he gained a Master of Metallurgy from The University of Sheffield in Advanced Metallurgy. Dr. Al-Malki was awarded a PhD in Materials Science from The University of Leeds. Dr. Al-Malki research activities are focused on product and process development of HADEED's flat steel products. He has 14 years of experience with ARAMCO, MA'ADEN, SABIC and HADEED. Dr. Al-Malki is a fellow of Saudi Council of Engineers and a board member for the Material Chapter.
Dr. Mansour Al Elyani is the technical group leader of Metallurgical & Corrosion Analysis group at SABIC Technology & Innovation, with more than 15 years' experience in the field of materials and corrosion science and engineering. During this period, he used to conduct different corrosion and materials failure investigations in petrochemical industries planets, from the mechanism understanding to the proper solutions through analysis and testing. Dr. Mansour is expert in different techniques used in his field, including Light and Electron scanning Microscopies, Materials Characterization, Mechanical Testing and Electrochemical Corrosion and Coating testing techniques.
Professor Khalifa Al-Jabri obtained his BSc in Civil Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University in 1991 and MSc and PhD degrees from The University of Sheffield, UK in 1993 and 2000, respectively. After obtaining the PhD, he joined the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering as an Assistant Professor and in 2006, he was promoted to an Associate Professor rank and appointed as the Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research in the College of Engineering. In 2011, he was promoted to Professor and appointed as the Head of the department of Civil and Architectural Engineering. As a recognition of his outstanding achievements in research and academia he was appointed, by a royal decree, as member in the State Council (the Parliament) in Oman from 2011-2015. In 2015, he received the Best Researcher’s Award from Sultan Qaboos University and I was elected as a Fellow member (FICE) of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) in the UK. He also received the Distinguished Scientist Award from Venus International Foundation in 2016 and the pioneer Engineer’s award from the Gulf Union of Engineers in 2017.
Dr. Haytham Al-Jabr is a senior scientist n the Research & Technology Department at HADEED-SABIC. He holds a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Qatar University, M.S and PhD degrees in metallurgical and materials engineering from Colorado School of Mines. He has more than 10 years of experience in steel rolling metallurgy and processing. His professional interest focus on the development of hot rolled pipeline steels. In addition he is a member of ASM international and AIST.
